Shihan Makela Nzolameo Scarpa

Shihan Makela Nzolameo Scarpa was born on September 19, 1969, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He began his martial arts journey in 1979 at the Okinawa Club in Kinshasa and has since dedicated his life to the sport. With over four decades of experience, Shihan Makela is a highly skilled and knowledgeable practitioner, expert in nine different styles of martial arts, including karate, judo, taekwondo, jujitsu, self-defense, kung fu, boxing, French savate, ninja, and more.

Shihan Makela's passion and commitment to karate have earned him a 6th Dan rank and a teacher qualification, which he has held since 2009. He has participated in numerous international karate championships and seminars, working with top sensei from Japan, Belgium, and beyond. As the National President of SKSA DRC Kinshasa and Chief Instructor, Shihan Makela is dedicated to promoting the sport in his home country and helping to develop the next generation of karate practitioners.

In recognition of his hard work and dedication, Shihan Makela has been elected as the Joint Secretary of SKSAI. He is eager to use this position to further promote and advance the sport of karate on a global scale, helping to create new opportunities for young people and build a more inclusive, vibrant community around the world. With his wealth of experience, passion, and commitment, Shihan Makela is poised to make a lasting impact on the world of martial arts.
